Ronald Amey is a Research Fellow (retired) in the Specialty Materials
group of INVISTA S.a r.l., a wholly-owned Koch Industries (Wichita, KS)
company.
Ron’s nearly 40-year research career in chemistry at E.I. DuPont de
Nemours & Co., Inc. and INVISTA spans a wide range of specialty
chemicals, materials, and end-product applications. His work as project
and team leader led to the development and commercialization of a novel
biocide for use in marine-antifouling paints, new intermediates for synthetic
musk compounds in fragrances, and a family of specialty amines used for
curing and cross-linking epoxy coatings, paints, and composites. He is the
inventor/co-inventor on twelve U.S. patents and the recipient of two DuPont
Co. Corporate Marketing Excellence awards for his product and application
development work with downstream customers.
Ron received his BS degree in Chemistry from Lehigh University in 1974
and a PhD in Organic Chemistry from the University of Illinois Urbana-
Champaign in 1979.
He and his wife Gail, a retired IT System Analyst for DXC Technologies
Inc., are active in the Philadelphia Zoo and international travel programs
focused on animal conservation.
